Growing Conditions

Vine age: From 60-90 years old. Vineyards selected for Weinert Malbec are situated in Lujan de Cuyo and Maipú, within the subregions of Perdriel, Agrelo, Lunlunta.

2012 harvest is extraordinary in richness and concentration as a result of low yields in the vineyards due to a natural hydric stress - snowfall in the Andes registered lower levels than normal, decreasing the amount of water available for irrigation. After the month of January was struck by a heat wave, the following months February and March registered cool temperatures, dry weather and no hail storms, developing into excellent sanitary conditions, perfect ripeness and great concentration.

Aging

9 years in French oak casks of 2.200 – 6.000L, between August 2012 and May 2021.

Harvest

All grapes were harvested manually and selected at the vineyard itself, transported in small 20kg cases to the winery and immediately crushed.

Bottling
